SUNDAY CANDY

Sundays have always been my stagnant medium between the mind-boggling celerity of Monday to Friday with the lethargic attitude of a typical Friday/Saturday evening. However, that particular Sunday day followed through until now have been jam-packed, consisting of random photo-shoots, obsessive project planning for the following week, meet ups with fellow content curators and editors,  family dinners and late night Skype study sessions that consist of more play than work. Despite the chaotic collision of events and ludicrous amount of technicalities that go into setting up random meetings, the day’s itinerary is carried out in a languid manner that borderlines obscene, but somehow manages to pass as presentable, most of the time.

Just like anyone else I do have my limitations in terms of working over the weekends. When that happens, an intense session of recuperating is set in order that involves being bundled up in blankets up to my chin, an absolution from the numbing cold. However, my schedule and prior commitments do not permit me to idle about and therefore my darling angel of a friend was the only one who could set me straight. As you are about to find out, I am terrible at keeping in touch and my organization skills lack the finesse and upright composure, characteristics that most people are so quick to point out about me.

Anyways, as retribution to my lethargy, a close friend came by to cut my morning mope session short. With the Kenyan hospitality ground into me at an early age, I dragged my feet to the kitchen and prepared some tea. We sat by the window, sharing our infatuation for coffee and indulging in the sugary goodness of pre-heated pastries. It has been a rather long time since I last saw her but we managed to fall into the previous moldings of our child hood back in primary school: I, the inquisitive, and her, ever willing to share right down to the smallest of details.

As mid day began to casually stroll by, the dawning reality that I would soon be leaving the warmth and comfort that came with being tucked in my blankets and the company of my dear friend had me reeling in a state of temporary despondency . The wee hours offered by the morning would never be enough time to catch up. She promptly made haste as she too was late, leaving me to mentally and emotionally prepare myself for the deluge of social events, school work and activities, which I may or may not have put off from the previous week.

Much apologies for the late blog post, it accidentally got deleted. I'm off to prepare for a mathematics exam that I inevitably will fail. Bye
